LIMITED RELEASE MINIATURE
1 Infantry Figure.
This miniature is available for a limited time, in memory of our friend Ron "Woody" Woodrum.
Ron was an employee at Ral Partha Enterprises in the early/mid 1980s, a regular at the annual Falmurth games, representative of Ral Partha at conventions, and an investor in Adventure Gaming Magazine. He was also featured in the Partha Pipeline from May 1985.
Woody was a good friend and a kind soul. He passed away in November of 2023, shortly after the 49th annual Falmurth game. I am glad that I got to know him over the years, enough to consider him a friend. I am also very happy that he came up to visit the RPL workshop, once the pandemic had settled out.
The figure here is "Grond", one of eight miniatures from the Finieous Fingers range of miniatures that was produced to raise funds for the continuation of Adventure Gaming Magazine. They were only sold from the summer through December of 1982. They were all sculpted by Tom Meier. Ron was a big fan of this miniature and had painted up an entire unit of them for his Falmurth army. He fielded them with his army at his final Falmurth game.
With the generous permission of Tim Kask, we are making this miniature available once again for a limited time, to raise funds in support of Ron's widow.
All proceeds will be donated to the Gofundme account on her behalf. RPL is bearing all the costs for the molds, metal, labor, and any financial processing fees. Tim Kask and Tom Meier are donating their efforts also. Every penny will go to support Ron's spouse. RPL will direct the funds on a quarterly basis, at the same time that we issue royalty payments.
To differentiate this figure from the original castings, Tom Meier has added text to the surface, front edge, and underside of the base. The Topside reads "Woody" between Grond's legs. The front edge reads " In Memorium". The underside includes the year that Tom modified the base, 2024, and information as to who was associated with the effort: Tim Kask, Tom Meier, and RPL.
It took me longer than I had hoped to get a good master copy found, Tom to add the text, and for me to the remaster and make a new production mold.
I am really hoping that our community can help raise some funds to support this good cause.
